Patricia E. Dowden, President and CEO, Center for Business Ethics and Corporate Governance
Ms. Dowden has done consulting and has conducted business seminars in Russia since 1997, beginning with a World Bank-sponsored consultancy at Alfa Bank in 1997-1998. She has worked with Russian organizations and universities in Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, St. Petersburg, and Yaroslavl, as well as Armenia. Since 2010, she has worked with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania on promoting business ethics concepts through conferences and classes at major Russian universities, including Lomonosov Moscow State University, Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg State University of Economics (FINEC), St. Petersburg State Polytechnical University, Russia State University for Humanities (RGGU) and Financial University. She is a member of the editorial board of the magazine "Management Sciences" of the Financial University.
Ms. Dowden is a member of the Advisory Council of the Eurasia Foundation and serves on the Steering Committee of the Eurasia-sponsored US-Russia Civil Society Partnership Program as well as co-chair of the CSPP Anti-Corruption and Business Ethics Working Group.
Ms. Dowden brings a wide range of experience in finance, marketing, systems design, organizational development, and risk management during a 40-year career with Atlanta-based SunTrust Bank (Group Vice President) and Philadelphia-based CoreStates Bank (now Wells Fargo) (Senior Vice President).
She holds degrees from the University of North Carolina (B.S., Phi Beta Kappa) and Georgia State University (MBA).
