January 2010 1st Meeting of the US-Russia Civil Society Forum

On Wednesday, January 27th, in Washington, DC, the US-Russia Civil Society Forum met for the first time. 1st Deputy Chief of Staff Vladislav Surkov, representing the Kremlin, and Michael McFaul, Senior Director for Russian and Eurasian Affairs at the National Security Council, representing the Obama Administration, co-chaired the session. The session discussed implementation of Articles 12 and 13 of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, and included representatives from CFBE, Transparency International, and Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
